Christmas at Uzwela Foundation is not Christmas without us playing Santa Clause for the 53 children at the Igugulethu children’s home. This was the 8th Christmas party we hosted, but the second in our capacity as Uzwela Foundation.

The children  were extremely excited to see us and very happy with their gifts that included soft toys, dolls, remote controlled cars and educational toys. We take great care to research the ages and genders of the children so that Elize can pick the best presents for each child. Every gift is then individually wrapped, with a sticker with their name. The children range from 7 months to 15 years old.

As can be expected the centre doesn’t have the funds to buy Christmas decoration, but one innovative young man took it upon himself to decorate the tree with a star made from toiletpaper rolls. So creative!
