Tambo Memorial Hospital is a Government hospital situated in the Ekurhuleni Metro, in the town of Boksburg.  The hospital is one of the oldest hospitals in Gauteng.  It began as a joint hospital of the state and East Rand Property Mine on August 1905.  The State assumed full control over the hospital in 1984.  The hospital’s name changed to Tambo Memorial Hospital on 17 April 1997 and was previously known as BBH (Boksburg Benoni Hospital).

This was Uzwela Foundation’s first visit to Tambo Memorial Hospital.  Santa, accompanied by our Uzwela representatives, visited  Pediatric Wards 11 and 12.   The children were so excited to see Santa Clause and couldn’t wait to greet him!  We handed out sweetie cups and cupcakes to the children, mommies and staff members.
